Capillary Tube

(used in an air conditioner) A capillary tube expansion device meters refrigerant to an evaporator coil to obtain boiling refrigerant in the evaporator coil for heat transfer.  Due to modern energy efficiency requirements capillary tube expansion devices are no longer commonly used in residential construction.
