Infiltration

The act of something seeping or working its way into an area

Interfered

A term used when an act or object prevents something else from occurring. An example is that a cabinet door interfered with opening of a dishwasher door.

Intermittent

A term used when something occurs on occasion and does not occur at other times. A dishwasher is said to operate intermittently if it does not always run when turned on.

Interrupter

A term used for a device that interrupts or stops the normal flow of events. A ground fault interrupter stops the normal flow of electrical energy when a small current is detected in the ground loop of a device.

Irreparable/reparable

A term often used when an object is not economically repairable. An example is a 30 year old air conditioning unit that has failed because of a defective compressor.
