Belly

Colloquial term often used in describing a low spot in a horizontal section of sanitary drain line or vent line.  Low spots can trap water and solids leading to  drain clogs.

Bending moment in floor joist

The force or load applied that tends to bend floor joists. The bending moment cannot induce stress in the floor joists that exceed the strength of the floor joists or they will fail.

Berms

Ridges in soil that are used for decoration and/or dams to control water flow.
